Are you ready to stop complaining and start living with intention?
I'm sure we can all agree 2020 is not starting out the way many of us were expecting. With all the chaos going on right now with the Corona Virus and pretty much everything else that is happening, I think it's best to look within to see what practices we're following to help keep us calm.
I talk a lot about being a calm and assertive pack leader for your dog and others around you, so this episode is giving you the necessary tools to show up in that way. If you're complaining your life away, something tells me you aren't much of a leader. Let's change that!
Most people spend 90% of their time on the problem and not the solution. Staying in that state is not only not productive, it also gives the issue time to intensify. Ignoring the problem just gives it time to magnify and grow into something harder to tackle.
If you just do the easy things in life and you procrastinate the hard stuff, then life becomes hard. But if you do the hard things, life becomes easy because you're building those muscles and mental fitness is just as important as mental intelligence.
So it's really important that you protect your energy and be intentional with where it’s going. Intentionally put most of your energy towards the solution so that you can get out of your own way.
Another life-changing tip that's helped me is to get clear on what your emotional home is and to be intentional with what emotions you allow to dominate your life. In this episode and the last, I share how my emotional home has been the state of overwhelm for a while now, but I'm actively changing that with daily practices and habits. My systems have been on point since this realization and I'm feeling better than ever because of it.
Remember, if you catch yourself complaining let that be a signal that you’re not taking responsibility and owning that action. Once I realize I'm complaining, there are three questions that I always go to so I can reframe my mind and get into a better headspace.
Am I complaining just to complain or is there actually an issue here?
Am I taking full responsibility for my actions?
If this issue that I’m currently complaining about were to go away, would I actually be relieved or would it just be another issue to complain about?
If you've tuned in to this episode, you know I mentioned a great exercise (see info below) that will help you determine what your complaints are so that you can either drop them or create a solution. This is a great way to get clarity on something that's been causing real trouble in your life. Once you get clear on that, it becomes easier to see how important it is to make a change.
If you get hit with feeling stuck with the decision to make that change, to own up to your actions and to be responsible, then it's time to tune in to the Decision Making Episode. I walk you through making hard decisions and that episode happens to be one of our top ones so use it and abuse it.
